If you’re like most people you probably have a pet rat or two. And like most people you probably have a pet hamster as well. But what if you’re considering getting rid of one of your pets? Can rats and hamsters live together?
The answer is yes but there are a few things you need to know before you put them in the same cage.
First rats are much larger than hamsters so they will need a larger cage. Second rats are very active and need a lot of space to run around. Third rats are very curious and will want to explore everything in their cage including the hamster’s food.
So if you’re going to put a rat and a hamster together make sure the cage is large enough for both of them and that there is plenty of food and water for both of them.
