It’s been a while since we’ve seen a good ol’ fashioned heist movie. You know the kind where a group of criminals come together to pull off a daring robbery? Well it looks like we’re in for a treat with House of Gucci.
The film which is currently in production is based on the book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder Madness Glamour and Greed” by Sara Gay Forden. And from the sounds of it this movie is going to be one wild ride.
Here’s everything we know about House of Gucci so far:
The film follows the true story of Maurizio Gucci (played by Adam Driver) the grandson of Guccio Gucci who founded the iconic fashion house in 1921. Maurizio took over the company in the early 90s and quickly became known for his lavish lifestyle.
However things took a dark turn when Maurizio began an affair with his head of security Patrizia Reggiani (played by Lady Gaga). Maurizio’s wife Allegra (played by Jared Leto) found out about the affair and filed for divorce.
In 1995 Maurizio was shot and killed by a hitman hired by Patrizia. She was later convicted of his murder and spent 18 years in prison.
The film is being directed by Ridley Scott and also stars Al Pacino Jack Huston and Reeve Carney.
So far there is no official release date for House of Gucci but with production underway we can expect it to hit theaters sometime in 2021.
