And in March 2018 Variety reported that “Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” was one of a number of projects that had been greenlit by Lionsgate’s new film division label42.
So it certainly seems like there is some truth to the rumors that a “Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” movie is in development. Of course until we hear an official announcement from Lionsgate or Suzanne Collins we won’t know for sure.
But even if a movie adaptation is in the works it’s likely still a long way off. It usually takes a few years for a book to be adapted into a movie so even if production does start soon we probably won’t see the “Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” movie for a few years.
