Catherine Herridge is one of the most respected journalists in the country. So why did she leave Fox News?
The answer it seems is fairly simple: Herridge was offered a position at CBS News and she decided to take it.
The move comes as a bit of a surprise as Herridge has been with Fox News since 1996. She’s been one of the network’s most recognizable faces and her departure is certainly a loss for Fox News.
That said Herridge is joining a CBS News team that is on the rise. The network has been making some big hires lately including Jeff Glor as its new anchor and Herridge will be a valuable addition.
At CBS News Herridge will be a senior investigative correspondent. She’ll continue to work on stories that matter and she’ll have a larger platform to do so.
Herridge is a fantastic journalist and her move to CBS News is a big get for the network. We wish her all the best in her new role.
