The main event of the most recent installment of Premier Boxing Champions on FOX last night saw WBC interim welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman take on Danny “Swift” Garcia in a highly anticipated unification bout. In the end it was Thurman who emerged victorious by way of a close but unanimous decision.

The fight started out with both men feeling each other out in the first round. Thurman was the more aggressive fighter in the second and third rounds but Garcia did well to counter him and landed some hard shots of his own.

The fifth round was more of the same as Thurman continued to press the action and land some good shots. Garcia to his credit was able to weather the storm and did not allow Thurman to take control of the fight.

The eighth round was another close one but Thurman seemed to land the more significant shots. Garcia did well to stay in the pocket and land some good shots of his own but Thurman may have done enough to take the round.
The ninth round was Thurman’s best of the fight as he landed several hard shots that hurt Garcia. Garcia was able to make it through the round but he was definitely on unsteady legs.
The tenth round was another close one but Garcia may have landed the more significant shots. Thurman was still the aggressor but Garcia was able to land some good counter shots.

In the end all three judges scored the fight for Thurman by the slimmest of margins. It was a close fight but Thurman did just enough to edge out Garcia and remain undefeated.
