The Black Swan is a ballet adapted from the Swan Lake fairy tale. The original ballet was choreographed by Lev Ivanov with music composed by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The Black Swan was first performed in Moscow in 1877.
The Black Swan is a story about love betrayal and redemption. The ballet is about a white swan who is turned into a black swan by an evil sorcerer. The black swan falls in love with a prince but the sorcerer tricks the prince into thinking that the black swan is trying to kill him. The prince kills the black swan but when he realizes what he has done he falls into a deep sleep. The white swan comes back to life and saves the prince.
