Today marks the twenty years since the murders of two of the most iconic and influential rappers of all time – Tupac Shakur and Christopher “Notorious B.I.G” Wallace. To this day the murders remain unsolved. Theories abound as to who was responsible for their deaths but no one has been able to definitively say who shot Tupac and Biggie.
In September of 1996 Tupac was murdered in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. He was 25 years old. Just six months later in March of 1997 Biggie was gunned down in Los Angeles. He was 24 years old. The murders of Tupac and Biggie sparked a feud between the East Coast and West Coast rap scenes which culminated in the deaths of several other key players in the rap world.
In the years since their deaths there have been a number of documentaries and books written about the murders of Tupac and Biggie. Most recently in 2017 the Fox special “Who Shot Biggie and Tupac?” aired. The special claimed to have new information about the murders but was ultimately met with criticism for its lack of concrete evidence.
So who shot Tupac and Biggie? The answer unfortunately remains a mystery.
