Nala’s courage and level-headedness are put to the test when she sets out on a dangerous journey to find help for her Pride Lands.
Beyoncé was drawn to the role of Nala because she could relate to her strength and determination. “Nala is such a fierce character and I feel like I could really identify with her” she said. “She really fights for what she believes in and she wants things to be better for those around her.”
The Oscar-winning actress and singer added that she was also inspired by the film’s timeless message of hope. “I feel like this film needed to be made” she said. “It’s such an important story to tell and it’s so relevant today. The message of The Lion King is timeless and it’s one that’s needed now more than ever.”
