Simba is a character who appears in Disney’s The Lion King. He is the son of Mufasa and Sarabi the grandson of Ahadi and Uru the great-grandson of Tufts and Zala and the father of Kiara and Kion.
Simba was born in the Pride Lands of Africa the heir to the throne. However after his father was killed by his uncle Scar Simba was tricked into thinking he was responsible and exiled himself. He was rescued by Timon and Pumbaa and eventually returned to take his rightful place as king.
Simba is voiced by Matthew Broderick in the original film and its sequel The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride while he is voiced by Jason Weaver in The Lion King 1½. He is also voiced by Kiari Kendrell Cephus as a cub.
Simba is a brave heroic and confident lion. He is born into royalty as the son of Mufasa making him a prince. However after Mufasa’s death Simba is tricked into thinking he was responsible and runs away in exile. He is taken in by Timon and Pumbaa who teach him their philosophy “Hakuna Matata”. Simba eventually grows up and returns to the Pride Lands to take his place as king confront his past and defeat Scar.
Simba is a wise and just ruler and under his leadership the Pride Lands flourish. He is also a loving husband and father and is devoted to his family.
Simba is based on the character of the same name from the Biblical story of Samson. He is also similar to the character of Moses from the Book of Exodus.
