It was recently announced that Fox News contributor Kaitlan Collins is leaving the network for CNN.Collins had been with Fox News since 2013 and was a regular contributor on “Outnumbered” and “The Five.”
According to Mediaite Collins is the latest in a string of contributors and on-air personalities who have left Fox News for CNN in recent months. These departures come as Fox News is facing increasing scrutiny from both inside and outside the network.
Several high-profile contributors have left Fox News for CNN in recent months including:
• Scottie Nell Hughes: Hughes was a regular contributor on Fox News and a contributor on CNN before leaving Fox News in September 2017.
• Bakari Sellers: Sellers was a contributor on CNN before leaving the network in August 2017.
• Tara Setmayer: Setmayer was a contributor on CNN before leaving the network in July 2017.
• Kayleigh McEnany: McEnany was the RNC’s national spokesperson and a regular contributor on Fox News before joining CNN in August 2017.
• Jeffrey Lord: Lord was a regular contributor on Fox News before being fired in August 2017.
• James Rosen: Rosen was a reporter for Fox News before leaving the network in December 2016.
These departures come as Fox News is facing increasing scrutiny from both inside and outside the network. The network has been embroiled in a series of scandals in recent months including the firing of CEO Roger Ailes over sexual harassment allegations the sexual harassment allegations against host Bill O’Reilly and the departure of long-time anchor Megyn Kelly.
In the midst of all this Fox News has also seen its ratings dip. The network finished 2017 behind MSNBC in the ratings for the first time in 17 years.
With all of this going on at Fox News it’s no wonder that some contributors and on-air personalities are looking for the exits. CNN on the other hand has been on a bit of a roll lately. The network had its best ratings year ever in 2017 and has been seeing its ratings rise in 2018.
CNN also has the benefit of not being embroiled in the same scandals as Fox News. With all of the turmoil at Fox News it’s no surprise that some contributors and on-air personalities are looking for a new home at CNN.
