Fox13 news anchor Tamara Green left the station on September 8 2020. Green had been with the station since 2013.
Prior to her career in news Green was a model and actress. Her credits include commercials music videos and independent films. Green also has experience as a radio host and producer.
Green’s departure from Fox13 comes as a surprise to many. The station has not released an official statement regarding her departure. However Green herself took to social media to announce the news.
In a post on her personal Facebook page Green wrote: “I have made the decision to leave Fox 13 and pursue other opportunities. I want to thank all of my colleagues past and present for their support and friendship. I will truly miss working with all of you.”
Green did not elaborate on what her next career move will be. She simply thanked her fans for their support and said she is “looking forward to the next chapter” in her life.
This is not the first time a Fox13 news anchor has left the station recently. In July 2020 longtime news anchor Karyn Greer announced her retirement. Greer had been with the station for more than 20 years.
The departures of Green and Greer come at a time when the news industry is undergoing major changes. With the coronavirus pandemic continuing to affect the world many news organizations are making cuts to their budgets. This has led to layoffs and buyouts of journalists across the country.
It is unclear if Green’s departure from Fox13 was related to budget cuts at the station. However her departure does highlight the challenges that the news industry is currently facing.
