Dr. Goodall first met Bibi Monkey in 1960 when Bibi was just two years old. Bibi quickly became one of Dr. Goodall’s favorite monkeys and the two have been inseparable ever since.
Bibi Monkey has been with Dr. Goodall through some of the most important moments of her life including the publication of her groundbreaking book In the Shadow of Man. In fact it was Bibi who inspired Dr. Goodall to write the book in the first place.
Bibi Monkey is now 52 years old and is still going strong. She is a true ambassador for her species and a reminder of the importance of conservation.
