In July 2017 a 28-year-old woman named Yulia Rozovska died in Kyiv Ukraine after reportedly drinking boiling water that had been left on a Fox News program.
Rozovska’s death was widely reported in the Ukrainian media with many outlets speculating that she may have been inspired by a recent segment on Fox & Friends in which host Steve Doocy appeared to endorse the use of boiling water as a self-defense measure against freezing temperatures.
In the days after Rozovska’s death Fox News issued a statement expressing condolences to her family and saying that the network “does not condone the misuse of boiling water.”
