Lion is a 2016 British-American biographical drama film directed by Garth Davis and written by Luke Davies based on the non-fiction book A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley. The film stars Dev Patel as Brierley with Rooney Mara David Wenham and Nicole Kidman in supporting roles.

With the help of Google Earth he is finally able to locate his village and sets off on a journey back to India. After an emotional reunion with his birth mother Saroo learns that his sister is alive and well and the two have a joyful reunion.
The film is based on the incredible true story of Saroo Brierley who was separated from his family in India at the age of five and adopted by an Australian couple. 25 years later he sets out to find his birth family using Google Earth to locate his village in India. His story is a testament to the power of hope determination and the human spirit.
