Lion the next major release of OS X will be released to the public on Wednesday July 20. The release date was announced by Apple at its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday.
Lion is a big release for Apple. It includes more than 250 new features including a new version of the Mac App Store support for full-screen apps a new way to organize and find files called Launchpad and a new multi-touch gesture system called Mission Control.

Release date
Lion will be available to download from the Mac App Store on Wednesday July 20. It will be a file that is about 4GB in size.
System requirements
In order to install Lion you must have an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo Core i3 Core i5 Core i7 or Xeon processor. Lion will also require at least 2GB of memory and 8GB of available storage space.
