According to Disney’s website the live action Lion King is set to be released on July 19 2019. The website also states that the film will be “a reimagining of the 1994 animated classic.”
The live action Lion King will be directed by Jon Favreau who also directed the 2016 live action remake of The Jungle Book. The film will star Donald Glover as Simba Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala and James Earl Jones as Mufasa reprising his role from the original animated film.
