In October 2013 Chris Wallace left Fox News after more than 10 years with the network.
Wallace had been with Fox News since it launched in 1996 and during his time there he served as the network’s chief political anchor and hosted the weekly public affairs program Fox News Sunday.
Wallace’s departure came as a surprise to many as he was one of the most prominent and respected figures at Fox News.
In the months leading up to his departure there had been rumors that Wallace was considering leaving Fox News but he had always denied them.
However in September 2013 it was reported that Wallace had quietly signed a new contract with Fox News that would see him leave the network in October.
The report claimed that Wallace had been unhappy with his job at Fox News for some time and that he had only signed the new contract because he was contractually obligated to do so.
Wallace officially left Fox News on October 2 2013.
In the days following his departure it was revealed that Wallace had been in talks with ABC News about joining their team.
However those talks ultimately fell through and Wallace ended up joining NBC News as a contributor in November 2013.
