Piers Morgan is a British journalist and television presenter who is currently a host on the US television show Fox & Friends. He previously worked as the US Editor-at-Large for the Daily Mail and as a columnist and editor for the Sun newspaper. He has also appeared as a guest on numerous other shows including Good Morning America The View and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Morgan began his career working as a journalist for local newspapers in the UK before being hired by the Daily Mirror in 1985. He first came to prominence in the early 1990s as the editor of the tabloid newspaper The Sun. He was fired from this position in 1995 after publishing a front-page story which falsely accused the Conservative Party of involvement in the death of a political adviser.
In 2004 Morgan became a contestant on the UK reality television show Celebrity Big Brother. He was the runner-up of the show and gained a large following in the UK as a result of his appearances.
In 2006 Morgan moved to the US to work as a columnist and editor for the Daily Mail. He also began making regular appearances on US television including as a guest host on Good Morning America and as a panelist on The View.
In 2011 Morgan was hired as a host on the US television show Piers Morgan Tonight. The show was cancelled in 2014 but Morgan continued to make regular appearances on other shows including as a guest host on Fox & Friends.
Morgan is a controversial figure and has been criticized for his views on a variety of topics including gun control the British Royal Family and immigration. He has also been accused of being biased against certain groups including Muslims and Donald Trump.
