Mint is a natural insect repellent and has a strong fresh scent that ants seem to dislike. You can grow mint plants around your home or place mint leaves in areas where you’ve seen ants.
If you have a pest problem and mint plants aren’t an option you can also try using mint essential oil. Just add a few drops to a cotton ball and place it in areas where ants are a problem. You can also make a mint spray by adding a few drops of mint essential oil to water in a spray bottle.
Whatever method you choose be sure to keep an eye on the area and reapply mint as needed. You should also keep in mind that mint won’t kill ants it will just deter them from coming into your home. But if you’re looking for a natural way to keep ants away mint is a great option.
