According to the Guinness World Records the largest rat ever recorded was a giant rat measuring 3.1 feet (95 cm) from nose to tail. This giant rat which was found in Nigeria weighed a whopping 11 lb (5 kg)!

Interestingly the largest rat in the world is not necessarily the biggest rodent.
