Fox Day at Rollins is a time-honored tradition that brings the campus community together to celebrate the start of the academic year. on this day new and returning students gather on Fox Lawn to enjoy live music food trucks and Rollins spirit! This year Fox Day will take place on Tuesday August 20th from 11am-2pm.
The tradition of Fox Day dates back to the early days of Rollins College. In the 1800s new students would arrive on campus by boat and be greeted by their fellow classmates. The students would then celebrate by decorating their boats and sailing them down the Fox River. Today Fox Day is a celebration of the start of the academic year and a time for students to come together and enjoy the Rollins community.
Fox Day is named after the Fox River which runs through campus. The Fox River is a beautiful natural feature of the Rollins campus and is home to many species of wildlife. On Fox Day students can enjoy the river views from the Fox Lawn while listening to live music and enjoying food from local vendors.
Fox Day is a great opportunity for new students to learn about Rollins and get involved in campus life. There are many student organizations that will be tabling on Fox Lawn and this is a great opportunity to learn about what they do and how to get involved. This is also a great opportunity to meet new people and make friends! Rollins is a close-knit community and Fox Day is a great way to start your journey here.
