After Thanos acquires all six Infinity Stones he uses them to destroy half the universe’s population. Among the fallen is Scott Lang / Ant-Man who was in the process of effecting a rescue with the help of his daughter Cassie.
In the months that follow Scott mourns the loss of his daughter and his fellow Avengers but he is eventually approached by Nick Fury and Maria Hill who recruit him for a mission to stop Thanos. Using the Quantum Realm Scott is able to time travel and warn the Avengers of Thanos’ impending attack.
The Avengers are able to defeat Thanos but not before he destroys the Infinity Stones. This results in the death of trillions of beings including Scott’s daughter Cassie.
With the loss of Cassie Scott retires from being Ant-Man and returns to his life as a widower and father.
