There’s been a lot of speculation about whether or not Nagini the snake in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is actually Voldemort’s snake. After all we know that Voldemort is able to transform into a snake so it’s not too far-fetched to think that Nagini could be his pet.
However there are a few things that don’t add up. For one Nagini is definitely not a Parselmouth like Voldemort is. In fact she can’t even speak. So it’s unlikely that she would be able to communicate with Voldemort in the same way that he does with other snakes.
Another thing is that Nagini is huge! It’s hard to imagine that Voldemort would be able to control such a large snake especially when he’s in his human form.
Lastly Nagini seems to be more than just a snake. She’s almost like a person and it’s hard to believe that Voldemort would treat anything like a person let alone a snake.
So while it’s possible that Nagini is actually Voldemort’s snake it seems more likely that she’s just a regular snake with a special connection to him.
