First, look at the anus of the rabbit. If the anus is open, the rabbit is a girl. If not, there will be a circular spot above it. This is the opening for the penis. If you press firmly on the anus, the genitals will extrude. Note that young rabbits have immature genitalia, making it harder to determine whether or not the animal is male or female. As the rabbit ages, its genitalia become more distinct.
You can also find out whether your rabbit is a boy or a girl by inspecting its genital area. Male rabbits have visible testicles, which are located in the groin between the hind legs. Male rabbits also have a scrotal sac, which bulges out from the penis and is shaped like an “I.” If you notice a torpedo-shaped penile tip, your rabbit is a boy.
