Instructions:
1. Begin by folding one of the square pieces of paper in half horizontally. Unfold and then fold in half vertically. Unfold and then fold in half diagonally both ways.
2. Fold the paper in half diagonally again this time bringing the top layer of paper over the bottom layer. This will create a triangle.
3. Fold the triangle in half again bringing the top layer over the bottom layer.
4. Turn the paper over and repeat steps 1-3 with the other square piece of paper.
5. Take one of the triangles and make a valley fold along the long side.
6. Unfold and then make a mountain fold along the same long side.
7. Turn the paper over and repeat step 5 with the other triangle.
8. Take one of the folds you just made and bring it up to meet the top point of the triangle. This will create a beak.
9. Fold the point of the beak down aligning it with the bottom edge of the triangle.
10. Turn the paper over and repeat steps 8 and 9 with the other triangle.
11. Take one of the triangles and make a valley fold about 1 inch from the top point.
12. Unfold and then make a series of mountain folds each about 1/2 inch apart.
13. Once you have made all of the mountain folds turn the paper over and repeat steps 11 and 12 with the other triangle.
14. Take one of the mountain folded triangles and begin accordion folding it starting at the top point and working your way down.
15. Once you have reached the bottom turn the paper over and repeat step 14 with the other mountain folded triangle.
16. To finish take one of the accordion folded triangles and glue or tape the two ends together. This will be the body of your ostrich.
17. Take the other accordion folded triangle and glue or tape the two ends together forming a ring. This will be the neck and head of your ostrich.
18. Slip the ring over the body of your ostrich and adjust it to the desired position.
Your origami ostrich is now complete!
