Deer hunting season is upon us and if you don’t have a trusty deer blind to help you bag that big buck now is the time to build one! With a few simple tools and some cedar fencing or pallets you can easily build a deer blind that will last for years.
Here are the supplies you will need to build a deer blind out of pallets:
-4 cedar fence boards or 8 pallets
-Nails or screws
-Camo netting
-Staple gun
-Carpenter’s level
-Measuring tape
First you will need to measure and cut your boards or pallets to the desired size. For a basic 4′ x 4′ deer blind you will need four boards that are 4 feet long and four boards that are 2 feet long. If you are using pallets you will need to disassemble them and use the individual boards.
Next you will need to nail or screw the boards together to form the sides and roof of the deer blind. Start by attaching the two 4 foot boards together with nails or screws placed every few inches. Then do the same with the two 2 foot boards. Finally attach the two sets of boards together at the corners to form a box.
Now it’s time to attach the camo netting. First staple the netting to one end of the blind then stretch it tautly over the top and sides of the blind and staple it in place. Trim away any excess netting.
To finish add a carpentry level to the top front corner of the blind to make sure it is level then nail or screw in some small strips of wood around the base of the blind to keep the bottom boards from sagging.
Your deer blind is now complete! Set it up in a spot where you know deer frequent and get ready for hunting season!
