In many parts of the world it is considered good manners to tip those who provide a service. This is usually done by leaving a small amount of money often 10-20% of the total bill in addition to the cost of the service itself. But what about when the service is provided by a monkey?
It may seem like a silly question but “monkey buses” are actually a thing in some parts of Asia where monkeys are trained to collect fares from passengers and then hand the money over to the driver. And while there is no set rule for how much to tip a monkey bus driver some experts say it’s a good idea to leave a little something extra.
“I would recommend tipping the monkey bus driver 10-20% of the fare just as you would for any other service” says etiquette expert William Hanson. “It’s a kind gesture that will be appreciated and it will also help to ensure that you get good service.”
