How Fox News Brainwashed My Father

How Fox News Brainwashed My Father

I grew up in a Republican household. My father was a strong supporter of the GOP and Fox News was our go-to source for news and information. I can remember as a child being glued to the TV whenever Fox News was on. I didn’t really understand what was going on but I knew that my dad agreed with what they were saying.

As I got older I began to question my father’s political beliefs. I would watch Fox News and see them talking about how the Democrats were ruining the country. They would say things like “The liberals are ruining America” and “The left is destroying our values.” I would then watch CNN or MSNBC and see them talking about how the Republicans were ruining the country. They would say things like “The conservatives are ruining America” and “The right is destroying our values.”

I couldn’t understand why both sides couldn’t just get along and work together. It seemed like they were both saying the same thing just from different perspectives. That’s when I started to realize that maybe Fox News wasn’t giving us the whole story.

My father is a very smart man but I don’t think he realizes how much Fox News has brainwashed him. He gets most of his information from that one source and he doesn’t question what they’re saying. He just believes it.
