The Walt Disney Company has been diligently working to expand its brand and reach new audiences for years now. This acquisition brought a lot of assets under the Disney umbrella including the Fox film and television studios cable channels and international networks.
However the acquisition of Fox also brought some baggage with it. The biggest issue that Disney has had to deal with is the question of whether or not Fox News will remain a part of the company. Fox News is a very polarizing network and Disney has been working hard to distance itself from the political leanings of the channel.
Disney has made it clear that it is not interested in running a news network and has been in talks with various suitors about selling Fox News. However the process has been complicated by the fact that Fox News is not just a cable channel but also a website and a mobile app. As of right now it is still unclear what will happen to Fox News but it is safe to say that Disney is not interested in keeping the channel as part of its portfolio.

Fox has been involved in a number of lawsuits and scandals over the years including the sexual harassment allegations against Roger Ailes and the sexual assault allegations against Bill O’Reilly. Disney has been working hard to distance itself from these scandals but it has been difficult given the fact that Fox was such a big part of the company.
Overall the acquisitions of Fox have been a mixed bag for Disney. The company has gained a lot of new assets but it has also inherited some problems. Only time will tell how Disney will handle these issues but it is clear that the company is not interested in running a news network.
