Fox News has not taken an official stance on vaccines but many of its commentators have been critical of them in the past. In 2015 then- presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Fox News that he was in favor of vaccines but that they should be given “on a smaller dosage over a longer period of time.” However he also said that he was in favor of “spacing them out over a period of years.” Trump’s comments were criticized by many in the medical community who said that his statements were not based on science.
In 2016 Fox News host Tucker Carlson said that the CDC was “lying” about the safety of vaccines. He also said that parents should have the “freedom” to decide whether or not to vaccinate their children. Carlson’s comments were also criticized by the medical community.
In 2018 Fox News host Laura Ingraham said that there was a “vast conspiracy” to push vaccines on the American people. She also said that the CDC was “corrupt” and that vaccines were not safe. Ingraham’s comments prompted a backlash from the medical community with many doctors and scientists calling for her to be fired.
It is clear that Fox News has been critical of vaccines in the past. However it is important to note that the network has not taken an official stance on the issue.
