According to some folk beliefs dragonflies are a sign that snakes are nearby. This belief is widespread in many cultures including Europe Asia and Africa. In some parts of the world dragonflies are even called “snake doctors.”
There is no scientific evidence to support this belief however. Dragonflies and snakes are both predators so it’s possible that they could be found in the same area. But there is no indication that they are attracted to each other or that they have any special connection.
