Did Troy Aikman Leave Fox

On October 8 2019 Troy Aikman announced that he was leaving Fox Sports after 21 years as a commentator and analyst. In a statement Aikman said:

“I never wanted to leave Fox. I truly appreciate the people I’ve worked for and with and all they’ve done to make this possible. I don’t know what the future holds but I’m truly grateful for my time at Fox.”

Aikman joined Fox in 1998 the same year that the network began televising NFL games. He was the lead analyst for Fox’s NFL coverage and called eight Super Bowls for the network.

Prior to joining Fox Aikman spent 12 years as a quarterback in the NFL winning three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006.

It is not yet known who will replace Aikman as the lead analyst for Fox’s NFL coverage.
