Ever since news broke that The Walt Disney Company was in talks to buy most of Fox’s assets there’s been speculation about what would happen to Fox News.
Now that the deal is officially done we know that Fox News and other Fox cable channels will remain part of the newly created Fox Corporation.
But what does that mean for the future of Fox News?
First it’s important to understand that Disney is not buying Fox News. The Murdoch family who control Fox will still own and control Fox News.
So for now it’s business as usual at Fox News.
But there are a few potential changes down the road that could impact the channel.
For one Disney is a much more family-friendly company than Fox. That could mean that Fox News will eventually be rebranded as a more family-friendly channel.
Additionally Disney is known for its strict control over its brands. That could mean that Fox News will have to start toeing the company line a bit more when it comes to its coverage.
