Are Disney Turkey Legs Actually Ostrich?
This is a question that many people have been asking lately and for good reason. The popular Disney treat has been a staple at the parks for years but there are some conflicting reports about what exactly is in those big juicy legs.
According to some sources the legs are actually ostrich meat which would make sense given their size and flavor. However others say that the meat is actually from emus which are similar in appearance to ostriches but are actually quite different birds.
So what’s the truth? Unfortunately Disney has not been forthcoming with any information about the source of their turkey legs. However based on the available evidence it’s likely that the legs are in fact ostrich meat.
There are a few reasons for this. First as mentioned before the legs are quite large and have a similar flavor to ostrich meat. Second Disney has been known to source its meat from ostrich farms in the past. And finally emus are not typically found in the United States where Disney is based while ostriches are.
