Why Is Pretty Woman Rated R

There are a few reasons why Pretty Woman is rated R. First there is the subject matter of the film. Pretty Woman is at its core a story about a prostitute and her John. There is a fairly significant amount of sex and nudity in the film which certainly warrants an R rating. Additionally there is quite a bit of language in the film including some fairly graphic sexual references.

All of that being said Pretty Woman is actually a fairly tame film when compared to some of the other films that are out there. It is a classic film with a great story and some very memorable performances. If you can get past the subject matter it is definitely worth checking out.
