Why Is Legally Blonde Rated Pg-13

“Why is Legally Blonde rated PG-13?” may seem like a simple question but it’s actually pretty complicated. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) is the organization that rates movies and they have a pretty detailed process. Basically they take into account things like violence language sexuality and drug use and then they make a decision based on what they think the majority of American parents would want their kids to see.

Some people argue that the PG-13 rating is too restrictive and that it keeps kids from seeing some good movies. Others argue that the rating is just right and that it protects kids from seeing things that are too mature for them. Personally I think that the rating system is a good thing and that it does a pretty good job of helping parents decide what their kids can handle.
