Fox News is provided in 86 countries or overseas territories worldwide with international broadcasts featuring Fox Extra segments during commercial breaks.
The channel was created by Australian-American media mogul Rupert Murdoch to appeal to a conservative audience and provides 24-hour news coverage and commentary. It is the most watched cable news channel in the United States and has been the most watched cable network in the country for 17 consecutive years. As of September 2018 around 86.7 million American households (75.1% of television subscribers) received Fox News.
Fox News hosts a number of programs including Fox & Friends Hannity The Ingraham Angle Fox News Sunday and special live events such as presidential debates. The network’s daytime programming consists mostly of news shows such as America’s Newsroom and Fox News @ Night along with opinion shows such as The Five The Story with Martha MacCallum and Outnumbered.
The Five is a talk show on the Fox News Channel featuring a panel of five commentators discussing current issues in the United States from a conservative perspective. The show premiered on April 24 2011 in the 5:00 pm ET timeslot replacing Glenn Beck. The show currently airs at 5:00 pm ET on weekdays.
The show is currently hosted by Kimberly Guilfoyle Juan Williams Dana Perino Greg Gutfeld and Jesse Watters. The show has been generally well-received with much of the praise going to Guilfoyle Williams and Gutfeld.
The show has occasionally been the target of criticism primarily for its political leanings. The show has also been criticized for its treatment of women with some media outlets dubbing it a “boys’ club.”
