But the Pharaoh was not convinced and he refused to let the Israelites go. So God unleashed a series of plagues on the Egyptians culminating in the death of the firstborn son of every family. Finally the Pharaoh relented and Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt.
The story of the snake bite is significant because it is a reminder that we are to trust in God even when things seem impossible. Moses could have easily been killed by the snake but he trusted that God would protect him. And God did.
