He has dedicated himself to revenge and his only goal is to kill the members of the organization that took his family away from him. However in the Chimera Ant arc Kurapika is nowhere to be seen. He is not mentioned and he does not make an appearance. This has led to some fans wondering where Kurapika is during the events of the arc.
One possibility is that Kurapika is simply too busy with his own vengeance quest to get involved with the events of the Chimera Ant arc. He may have heard about the ants but he would not see them as a priority. After all the ants are not the ones who killed his family. Kurapika may also feel that he is not strong enough to take on the ants. He may have encountered them before and been soundly defeated. This could be why he is keeping a low profile during the arc.
Another possibility is that Kurapika is involved with the ants in some way but we simply do not see him. He could be working undercover or he could be a captive. It is also possible that Kurapika has already been killed by the ants. This would explain why he is not mentioned at all during the arc. His death would be a huge blow to the characters who knew and loved him but it is possible that it has already happened off-screen.
Whatever Kurapika’s fate may be we can be sure that he is not playing a role in the events of the Chimera Ant arc. His absence is notable and it has led to speculation among fans. However we will have to wait and see if Kurapika ever reappears in the story.
