When Will Splash Mountain Change To Princess And The Frog

When Will Splash Mountain Change to Princess and the Frog?

It’s been a little over a year since Disney announced their plans to “retheme” Splash Mountain into a Princess and the Frog ride and the question on everyone’s mind is “when will it happen?”

There’s no official word from Disney yet but we can make some educated guesses based on past experience. When Disney first announced that they were going to retheme the ride they said that it would be ready in time for the 25th anniversary of The Princess and the Frog which is in 2024. However given the current state of the world it’s unlikely that the ride will be ready by then.

It usually takes Disney around two to three years to fully retheme a ride so we’re probably looking at a 2025 or 2026 opening date for the new Princess and the Frog ride. That said we could see Disney start to test the ride as early as 2023 so it’s possible that we’ll get a sneak preview of the new ride before it officially opens.

In the meantime there are plenty of other ways to get your Princess and the Frog fix at Disney World. You can check out the live action remake of The Princess and the Frog which is currently in theaters or visit Tiana’s Place in New Orleans Square at Disneyland. You can also listen to the “Almost There” scene from The Princess and the Frog on repeat until the new Splash Mountain ride opens.
