The story follows Judy Hopps a female rabbit who becomes the first rabbit to join the Zootopia police force and is assigned to solve the case of the missing otters. The film was released in Disney Digital 3D RealD 3D IMAX 3D and conventional theaters in the United States on March 4 2016.

The film received positive reviews with critics praising its animation voice acting characters humor soundtrack and themes about prejudice and diversity. It grossed over $1 billion worldwide making it the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2016 and the 32nd-highest-grossing film of all time. The film won the Academy Award Golden Globe Critics’ Choice Movie Award and Annie Award for Best Animated Feature Film.
