What is Concordance Rate?
Concordance rate is a statistical measure of the degree to which two sets of observations agree with each other. Concordance rate is also known as agreement rate correlation coefficient or simply as concordance.
The concordance rate is used in many different fields including medicine psychology sociology and engineering. In medicine concordance rate is used to assess the agreement between two diagnostic methods or between a diagnostic method and a gold standard. In psychology concordance rate is used to assess the agreement between two measures of personality or intelligence. In sociology concordance rate is used to assess the agreement between two surveys. In engineering concordance rate is used to assess the agreement between two sets of measurements.
The concordance rate is calculated by taking the ratio of the number of pairs of observations that agree to the total number of pairs of observations. The concordance rate can range from 0 to 1 with 1 being perfect agreement and 0 being no agreement.
The concordance rate is a useful statistic because it is easy to calculate and understand. However the concordance rate has some limitations.
