Origami the Japanese art of paper folding is practiced the world over by people of all ages. Though the practice may seem complicated origami is actually quite simple once you get the hang of it. One of the most popular origami projects is the frog.
There are many different ways to make a frog origami but this is a basic guide to get you started.
1. Start with a square piece of paper. If you don’t have a square piece of paper you can fold a regular rectangular piece of paper in half to create a square.
2. Fold the paper in half to create a crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top two corners down to meet the crease in the middle.
3. Fold the paper in half again to create another crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the bottom two corners up to meet the crease in the middle.
4. Fold the paper in half yet again to create a third crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top and bottom edges in to meet the crease in the middle.
5. Turn the paper over so that the folds are on the inside.
6. Fold the paper in half to create a crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top two corners down to meet the crease in the middle.
7. Fold the paper in half again to create another crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the bottom two corners up to meet the crease in the middle.
8. Fold the paper in half yet again to create a third crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top and bottom edges in to meet the crease in the middle.
9. Turn the paper over so that the folds are on the inside.
10. Fold the paper in half to create a crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top two corners down to meet the crease in the middle.
11. Fold the paper in half again to create another crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the bottom two corners up to meet the crease in the middle.
12. Fold the paper in half yet again to create a third crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top and bottom edges in to meet the crease in the middle.
13. Turn the paper over so that the folds are on the inside.
14. Fold the paper in half to create a crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top two corners down to meet the crease in the middle.
15. Fold the paper in half again to create another crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the bottom two corners up to meet the crease in the middle.
16. Fold the paper in half yet again to create a third crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top and bottom edges in to meet the crease in the middle.
17. Turn the paper over so that the folds are on the inside.
18. Fold the paper in half to create a crease down the middle. Unfold the paper and then fold the top two corners down to meet the crease in the middle.
