How do ants find food?
Quite simply they follow their noses. Ants have an acute sense of smell and can detect the faintest whiff of food from miles away. When an ant smells food it will start to walk in that direction and will continue walking until it either finds the food or loses the scent.
If an ant finds food it will pick it up and carry it back to the nest where it will share the food with the other ants. The scent of the food will be left on the ant’s body and this will act as a trail for other ants to follow.
