The Time of Use (TOU) rate is the price you pay for electricity during different periods of the day. The TOU period begins at 9pm and ends at 8am the following day. The TOU rate is higher during the on-peak period and lower during the off-peak and super off-peak periods.
On-peak: 9pm to 8am
Off-peak: 8am to 9pm
Super off-peak: 8pm to 9pm
You can find your TOU rate on your Con Edison bill. The rate is based on the type of customer you are and the amount of electricity you use.
If you’re a residential customer you’ll pay:
15.46 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) during the on-peak period
10.15 cents per kWh during the off-peak period
5.72 cents per kWh during the super off-peak period
If you’re a small business customer you’ll pay:
17.24 cents per kWh during the on-peak period
11.51 cents per kWh during the off-peak period
6.27 cents per kWh during the super off-peak period
If you’re a large business customer you’ll pay:
19.22 cents per kWh during the on-peak period
12.88 cents per kWh during the off-peak period
6.93 cents per kWh during the super off-peak period
