As a teenager it can be tempting to want to watch movies that are rated R. After all all of your friends are probably doing it and it can feel like you’re missing out if you don’t. But is it really a good idea?

Some R-rated movies deal with heavy subject matter such as death disease and war. These movies can be depressing and may not be appropriate for 17 year olds who are not ready to deal with such subject matter.
